Psychiatric Associates is a premier, outpatient, mental health treatment clinic located in OKC, off the Broadway Extension. Having served thousands of patients, the clinicians take pride in providing quality care and treatment in a casual, comfortable environment. We are fully staffed with two Board Certified Psychiatrists, a Board Certified APRN, and a Board Certified Physician Associate and we are ready to meet the needs of our community.

Dr. John M. Rahhal, M.D.
Board certified in Psychiatry since 1991
Having been born and raised locally, he loves everything Oklahoma! He attended the University of Oklahoma for his undergraduate in Microbiology, for Medical School, and for his Residency in Psychiatry. He has been a member of Psychiatric Associates since 1990 and has greatly enjoyed serving his patients for the past 32 years. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry.
He has given many lectures and presentations over the years and has a special interest in Sports Therapy and treatment. When he is not working, he enjoys hiking his favorite trails or climbing some challenging mountain!
He encourages his patients to join him in session as themselves, dressed casually and feeling comfortable, He will match you with his casual demeanor, and he will tackle your needs in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Mayo Clinic Trained
After several other careers and life experiences I entered Medical School at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in my mid 40's. My Residency in Psychiatry was completed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where I later stayed as a Senior Associate Consultant in Psychiatry. I returned to Oklahoma and joined Psychiatric Associates in 2006 and have been blessed and honored to care for my patients here since that time. A special interest of mine is Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation-Liaison Medicine) for those patients who suffer with complex medical conditions in addition to having mental health needs. I feel it is important for me to work with my patients from a "biopsychosocial" approach which includes psychotherapy, attention to environmental/social concerns and medication management. My leisure time is spent enjoying my family and interacting with our animals. A "heart mission" of mine is volunteering for Taps for Veterans and sounding TAPS for military funerals and ceremonies. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to honor our military in this way. It is my desire for everyone who is able to find ways to give back to others in their community through volunteerism. Dual Board-Certified Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
As a Texan transplanted to Oklahoma via the Air Force, I began my medical career as a paramedic in 1999. I then attended UCO while on active duty at Tinker and transitioned to a critical care RN in 2006 with various roles in ICU/ER/PACU and adjunct faculty at OU. I began my nurse practitioner career in 2013 with multiple experiences in family medicine and community behavioral health. As a dual-boarded NP, I feel strongly about leaning into my experiences in physical medicine as an adjunct to my psychiatric practice.
In my free time, you will find me at a sports event chasing one of my seven children.
